Serebrykova Zinaida Yevgenyevna

Biography Serebrykova Zinaida Yevgenyevna ( ) was the first female Russian painter of distinction.

Biography She was born in estate Neskuchnoye near Kharkov.

Biography She belonged to the artistic family of Lanceray. Her grandfather was an architect, her uncle was a famous painter, her father was a well-known sculptor.

Biography In 1900 she graduated from womens gymnasium and entered the art school founded by princess Tenisheva.

Biography In she travelled to Italy. In she studied at Academe de la Grande Chaumiere in Paris.

Biography In 1911 she joined the Mir iskusstve movement.

Biography In she was in her prime. During these years she produced a series of pictures on the theme of Russian rural life.

Biography In 1924 she went to Paris. Zinaida travelled a great deal. In 1928 and 1930 she travels to Africa, visiting Morocco.

Biography Her the most important works are: Bleaching Cloth(1917), Country Girl(1906) and Orchard In Bloom(1908)

In 1947 she took French citizenship. On September 19, 1967 she died in Paris.
