The places to visit London is the capital of England. It is its political and business centre. The heart of London is the City – its commercial and business centre. Here is situated the Tower of London that comes first among the historic buildings of the city.
The Tower of London It was founded by Julius Caesar and in 1066 rebuilt by William the Conqueror. It was used as a fortress, a royal residence and a prison.
Westminster Abbey has more historic associations than any other building in Britain. Nearly all English kings and queens have been crowned here. Many outstanding statesmen, scientists, writers, poets are buried here.
Westminster Palace Across the road from Westminster Abbey is Westminster Palace. It is the seat of the British Parliament

BIG BEN Big Ben is the name of clock and the bell of the clock tower of the House of Parliament. You can hear the sound of Big Ben every hour in London.
Buckingham P alace The Queen of England lives in Buckingham Palace. It is a wonderful building with a monument in front of it. It is the Queen Victoria Memorial.
TRAFALGAR SQUARE The centre of London is Trafalgar Square. In the middle of the square stands a tall monument to Admiral Nelson. It is named in memory of the victory in the battle of Trafalgar. The victory was won at the cost of Nelsons life.
ST. PAUL`S CATHEDRAL One of the greatest churches is St. Paul's Cathedral. It is not far from the Tower of London. The famous English architect Sir Christopher Wren built it in the 17 th century. It took Sir Christopher Wren 35 years to build it.
