Elvis Presley was born January 8, 1935 into a poor family from the working class. Elvis was born the second of twins, his brother was born already dead. The Presleys family was close, friendly, religious. They visited a church on Sundays and Elvis grew up in that atmosphere. 8 JANUARY 1935
His first guitar appeared in It was presented to Elvis by his parents. That was an expensive gift for their family.
Elviss father Vernon and mother Gladys changed a lot of jobs. He also tried different ones to help the family. His first record with the songs "My Happiness", "That's When Your Heartache Begins he recorded as a gift for his mother. He wanted to try out the sound of his voice. That costed him 5 $.
In the summer of 1954 Sun Studio invited him for audition. In the same year he published the first of five singles Presley on Sun Studio. Of course, World fame came to him at once. In 1955, Tom Parker (Colonel) became Presleys exclusive manager. November 20, 1955 Elvis signed a contract with a recording studio "RCA Records".
In 1956, he released the singles "Heartbreak Hotel" / "I Was the One", which were his first singles, over a million of copies were sold and received the status of gold. November 16, 1956 in New York City he stared in his first film"Love Me Tender".

May 1, 1967 Elvis married Priscilla (Priscilla Beaulieu), whom he met while in the Army. February 1, 1968, his daugter Lisa Marie was born. In 1969, Elvis returned to live performances, which he carried on until his death. From July 31 to August 28, 1969 took place the first (after the shooting in Hollywood), a series of concerts in Las Vegas. For 4 weeks 57 live concerts were held. In the 70's Elvis repeatedly performed in Las Vegas, as well as much touring across the country.
In March 1975, Elvis received the third and final Grammy. All three Grammy Presley received for gospel recordings. In the 70's several concerts Presley were canceled due to health. Nevertheless Elvis continued to give live performances.
But despite his flaws as a human being. Elvis remains astonishingly popular even today. But his gifts as a rock'n'roll singer are only the reason for his popularity. His importance relates to different aspects of his career; the fact that he, more than anyone else, can be said to have created rock'n'roll. For being the prime mover of the most important American art from of the last half the 20th century, he surely deserves recognition.
August 16, 1977 Elvis died of a heart attack at his home in Graceland at the age of 42 years. The day before he was going to the next tour.
