What Would We Tell About Ershov. Where it is situated. We have chosen this theme, because wed like to understand why people think that the best place is the place where they were born. Why do we think that Ershov is the best place for us. We'd like to tell you about Ershov, our native town. It is situated in Saratov region. It is a typical provincial town of Saratov Zavolzhye in the steppe region. Ershov is on the river Mali Uzen. It is an administrative centre of Ershov district.

How Old Ershov Is Ershov was founded in 1893 as a small railway settlement. It became a town since So, Ershov is 116 years old.

How Big It Is. Ershov is not big. There are two main streets in our town. International street with offices, shops and a market and Moscovskaya street with numerous shops and a very busy traffic. The streets of our town are long and green. There are a lot of old and new houses in our town. Many of them have one or two floors. There are some big houses with four or five floors now. Ershov is a large railway centre. We h ave a new and nice light blue railway station and railway workshops.

The Population The population of our town is nearly 24 thousand people. They are of different nationalities. They live in friendship and help each other. Each has its own culture and language, but they all speak Russian.

About The Weather. The weather is continental. Summer is very hot and winter is very cold. Sometimes it rains in autumn, spring and summer. There are a lot of sunny days in summer. The sky is blue and we can't see many clouds in the sky. August is the last summer month. It is the end of summer. There are many berries and fruit in August. The weather in autumn is changeable. It often rains. The days become shorter and the nights longer. The birds prepare to fly to the south. We can see yellow, red and brown leaves everywhere. It is time for gathering the harvest. The winter weather is very cold. We see snow everywhere. The ponds freeze and we can go skating and skiing.

The Sights of Ershov. There are 6 schools in Ershov and a musical school. For children there is the House of creative work. There is a museum and two town libraries. We can go to the clubs and see a film or a concert. There are some sport grounds in schools and a stadium in our town. There is a Square in the centre of our town. It is not very big, but it is beautiful with fir-trees and flowers. There are monuments to the heroes of the Civil war and the World War 2. People come to the memorial and to the monuments to put flowers.

Why We Love Ershov. The word MOTHERLAND means the place where we were born. So Ershov is our Motherland, because we were born here and it is the best place in the world. As English people say THERE IS NO PLACE LIKE HOME. We love our country but best of all, we love our home town Ershov.
