Mini-project «Story from the past»

Unfortunately, I do not know much about my ancestors, but I want to tell you about my great- grandfather. He was born in 1921 in our village Edessia. His name was Egizarov Ivan Karpovich. He was a participant of the Great Patriotic War. He went to the army and then was sent to front. He fought in Germany.

He was an intelligence officer and had to learn what technology were armed Germans. The first time they managed to do their task successfully. The next time they failed, were found and killed by Germans.

In May, 1945 year ended the Great Patriotic War. After the war all the houses in our village were destroyed, people had nowhere to sleep, no clothes. Was a severe hunger, people had to eat: edible herbs, berries and mushrooms, fish and even frogs.

There was no transport to plow the land and people made it themselves. They harnessed horses and bulls to plough fields and plant wheat.

During the war it was a very hard life, people were starving, had to move to different places, hiding in the trenches. The Germans lived in the neighborhood. Grandmother told me, that the Germans lived in their houses, took their food and made them to do the hard work.

We cant compare our life with the life during the war. Now we have what we want. I think we must be helpful to our grandparents and appreciate the possibility to have a peace life. I think my story from the past will help me and my friends to understand the story of my family, my village and my country.
