My English teacher told us, that there is a pupils competition «Читалка». I was interested in it. I decided to take part in this competition. It was interesting for me to read the book of Footprint Reading from Library National Geographic.

I have chosen the book Machu Picchu because I want to be an archaeologist. I like to read about different historical events. The book impressed me very much. I have learned that there is a beautiful and quiet place. It is situated between high mountains.

Machu Picchu is a city with a long history. It is more than 500 years old. Today it is a favorite place for visitors. People from all over the world come there.

The Inca civilization ended. Few people knew that Machu Picchu existed. In 1911, an explorer called Hiram Bingham found it again.

At first very little people visited the ruins. Now hundreds of tourists come here every day.

Machu Picchu is no longer quiet. Some people want the tourist to come. They want to establish better, more modern, tourist service.

The others dont want the tourist come to Machu Picchu. They worry about the environment. They say that the ancient city will change

As for me I think it is good from one side and bad from another. People may ruin the Lost City, but they can learn interesting facts about the civilization
