Lesson plan - One Minute World News Intermediate Level Step 1 – Turn off the sound on your computer. Step 2 – Go to and launch the video ONE- MINUTE WORLD NEWS. Step 3 – Students watch the video without the sound and decide how many news stories were included in the report. Step 4 – Once they have finished, they discuss with a partner what they saw and what they already know about the news stories. Step 5 – Now they watch the clip again with sound and see if they were correct about the number of news stories. They also make notes of any factual information included on the stories (names, place, figures etc.) You can pause the video if you need to make them notes.
